Setting Up Dial-Up Networking for Windows 95/98/ME

Step 1: Double-click the My Computer icon.

Step 2: Double-click the Dial-Up Networking icon.

Step 3: Double-click the Make New Connection icon.

Step 4: Click the Next button.

Step 5: Delete the contents of the Area code field, and type the area code for your access number.

Step 6: Delete the contents of the Telephone number field, and type your access number.

Step 7: Click the Next button.

Step 8: Click the Finish button.

Step 9: Click the My Connection icon with your right mouse button.

Step 10: From the drop down menu, choose Create Shortcut.

Step 11: Click the Yes button.

Step 12: Double-Click on the My Connection icon.

Step 13: In the User Name field, enter the user name given to you by your provider.

Step 14: In the Password field, enter the password given to you by your provider.

Step 15: Put a check in the box labeled Save Password.

Step 16: When you are ready to go online, click Connect.

NOTE: Your user name and password will not be saved until you connect successfully for the first time.

Step 17: You have successfully set up a Dial-Up Networking connection for Windows 95/98/ME.
