Setting Up E-Mail in Microsoft Outlook 2002

Step 1: Double-click on the Microsoft Outlook icon.

NOTE: If Outlook prompts you to connect to the Internet, click on Cancel. You do not need to be connected to the Internet to configure your Outlook settings.If you are starting up Outlook 2002 for the first time since you installed it, then the Startup wizard will begin automatically.

 
 

Step 2: From the drop-down menu marked Tools select Accounts.

NOTE: Your menu may not look exactly like the one below. You will need to expand the menu by clicking on the double arrows at the bottom of the pull down menu.


Step 3: The Mail setup Wizard of Outlook 2002 will be opened. This is a step-by-step guide to setting up a new email account with Outlook 2002. Click on Next to continue.


Step 4: Choose Yes, as we would like to configure a new email account now. Click Next.


Step 5: Choose POP3 from the list, then Click Next.


Step 6: In the User Information field, enter your full name, and the email address given to you by your provider.


Step 7: In the Server Information section, enter the Incoming and Outgoing mail server that your provider gave to you.


Step 8: In the Logon Information section, enter the username and password given to you by your provider. Make sure all of your information is correct, and then click on Next to continue.


Step 9: Click Finish to return to Outlook 2002.


Step 10: You have now successfully setup your internet e-mail account with Outlook 2002.
