Setting Up E-Mail in Microsoft Outlook Express 5.x & 6.x

Step 1: Double-click the Outlook Express icon.

Step 2: From the Tools menu, choose Accounts.

Step 3: Click on the Mail tab.

Step 4: Click the Add button, and choose Mail.

 
 

Step 5: In the Display name field, type in your name.

Step 6: Click the Next button.

Step 7: Select I already have an e-mail address that I'd like to use.

Step 8: In the E-mail address field, type in the email address given to you by your provider.

Step 9: Click the Next button.

Step 10: Click the down arrow on the drop-down list and choose POP3.

Step 11: In the Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server field, type in the incoming mail server given to you by your provider.

Step 12: In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server field, type in the outgoing mail server given to you by your provider.

Step 13: Click the Next button.

Step 14: In the Account name field, type in the account name given to you by your provider.

NOTE: Your account name is usually the text before the "@" symbol in your e-mail address.

Step 15: In the Password field, type in your password.

Step 16: Check the box next to Remember password if you would like your password to be saved.

Step 17: Click the Next button.

Step 18: Click the Finish button.
